You should have 2 different phone scripts ready to meet your network marketing needs.

Phone Script for prospecting business partners in your network marketing business from an opportunity list.

When you use the phone to begin your prospecting of potential partners in business, you need to do a quick quality attribute check. This is the cheapest way to prospect, however it is the most time consuming--even if the conversation lasts 2 minutes.

Your approach will be totally different, however you will still need to qualify the network marketing prospect of the 5 key attributes.

*Phone Scripts    It is my firm belief that a phone script should be written in your own words because trying to follow someone else's phone script WILL NOT WORK. Take what they give you, re-write it and use your own vocabulary.  Network marketing prospects can tell when you are reading from a phone script and they will see right through you.  You want to present LEADERSHIP in your call and in your voice.

It does not matter how much you know, it matters how you say it. Think like a leader, speak like a leader and you will draw network marketing prospects to you like a magnet.

Your Phone Script NEEDS to Gather these 5 Key Attributes

  • DESIRE
  • MONEY
  • CRITICAL THINKING
  • DECISION MAKING
  • INSTRUCTIONS

DESIRE: if your network marketing prospect can follow your instructions and prove to you that they did review your information, then it is safe to assume they have a genuine interest in your network marketing business.  Find out what their WHY is and keep going back to that in later follow ups.

MONEY: if there is a will there is a way. Network marketing prospects use money as an excuse more times than any other excuse in the book.  Just remember, if there is a DESIRE to earn income from your network marketing opportunity and they like it-your prospect will find the money.

CRITICAL THINKING:  does your network marketing prospects ask the "good questions". Compensation, company, products and marketing or advertising strategies.  Are they really evaluating your opportunity or are they comparing your network marketing company to another?

DECISION: if what we present to you, meets your satisfaction when do you think you would begin your partnership (or join) with our team?  Can they make a decision or they just fumbling around.

INSTRUCTIONS: to become a good leader, you must be a good listener, follower, and get yourself educated.  If the network marketing prospect has followed your instructions, then it is fair to say "they can follow instructions".  Right?


When you prospect for potential network marketing business partners using the above 5 attributes you will be leading with strength and the prospects will know it.  However, if you are reading from a "canned" phone script, they will read you like a book.

GET THE PHONE SCRIPT RE-WRITTEN IN YOUR OWN VOCABULARY

Always Remember: they are not saying NO to you, they are saying NO to your network marketing opportunity.  Or are they?

Your phone script should be a qualification script to make sure they are suited for the business that they want, not what you want them to be a part of.  There are angles you can present that will help you qualify them for your opportunity.  It's about your network marketing prospect and whether they are "ready" to be in business for themselves with the "self motivation" attached.

There are times when they (the network marketing prospect) is not ready for this business and should be strong enough to tell them that.  Present strength not weakness.  Take it away from them and see what happens.

REMEMBER:  if they don't like you, they will let you know, usually by not returning your phone calls, emails or simply not answering the phone the next time you call them.

Many people get turned off by talking about earning $100K per month.  Guess what?

If your network marketing prospect gets turned off by that phrase, you don't want them-they do not have the entrepreneur spirit.

****UPDATED 2008 ****

If you are familiar with the Magnetic Sponsoring System from Mike Dillard then you know a lot of networkers are building their business BASS AKWARDS.  We've applied those strategies in our current phone scripts and have basically been able to get back anywhere from 50% to 94% of the money we invested in the leads we purchased.  Use this script and have these few ebooks available and you will see a tremendous growth in your downline, because...............

They will not be losing money so fast and be more willing to stay in your network marketing business.  Remember it's the money that causes a lot of people to stop their autoship.


 

New Phone Script

Remember:  re-write the following phone script in your own vocabulary

Distributor: "Hi prospect, it's (your name) out here in (your state). Please put your money away we don't want it. Wait for the laugh from them and continue.  It's obvious that you are looking for ways to generate a few extra bucks or you wouldn't have stopped by our website. Is that correct?"

The NO Script:

Prospect:  "No, not anymore".  
Distributor:  "Great, thanks for saving my time, I'll be sending you a email real quick thanking you for your time, good-bye"

The YES Script:

Prospect: "Well, yes I am.  Whatch ya got?"
Distributor: "Well to start with (prospect name) do you have any questions that I might be able to help you with?"

Prospect: "Well, I have heard some things about the industry that have me concerned."
Distributor: "If you don't mind my asking, what exactly have you heard about our industry that has you concerned?"

Prospect: "That there are a lot of risks involved in joining a network marketing company."
Distributor: "I completely understand (prospect name) because I had the same concerns myself when I first considered becoming a network marketer.  You are very wise to be so cautious. Any other concerns?"

Prospect: "Yes, that if you don't choose the right company with the right products that your chance of achieving success is not very good."
Distributor: "Correct again (prospect name). Knowing how to choose a company that has the type of products people will want to buy is very important as well as having a system that will help you build your business without you having to be present all the time. Doesn't that sound like a lot easier than some of the things you've heard?

Wait for prospect to answer and then.....

(Prospect name), would it be alright if I direct you to a very affordable ebook that I make available to future marketers called, 'Network Marketing Survival'? This ebook will answer both of the concerns you've expressed to me today, plus it includes other information about the network marketing industry that I think you will find helpful. And since its a digital product you can keep it on your computer's desktop and refer to it whenever you need to."

  • We have several other digital ebooks that we can offer any prospect depending on how the conversation goes.  
  • What we are trying to do here is educate while earning some of our advertising money back.  
  • You can tell this person is not ready for network marketing just yet, and it is more important to educate them first, build trust, build a relationship, etc. before we offer them our primary business.  That will come, trust me, but it shouldn't happen right now.
  • By offering this ebook, (which they usually purchase from you for whatever price you determine) they are now going to be entered into our mailing list.  We can either do it manually or we can let them do it themselves.  Whatever the case may be, what we now have is a new subscriber to our email mailing list and this list is our pot of gold.


Prospect: "Yes, thank you, that sounds like something I would like to read before making such an important decision."
Distributor: "You're welcome prospect and thank you for taking the time to talk with me. I'll be sending you an email in a few moments that contains the link to the ebook. And I'll check back with you by email tomorrow to make sure you got the ebook alright and see if there's any questions you might have about it. Is that ok with you?"  (again, our autoresponder will send that message to them on our behalf, can you see how we use a system to our advantage?)

Prospect: "Yes and I look forward to hearing from you again, goodbye."

This phone script works and it helps us get a lot of our advertising money back, which means we can get more leads to work and continue to build our list.
